Getting Around Pattaya ... cheaper travel with pattaya mini bus.
For getting around the main bay area, you can choose the minibuses ( Thai Call "Songthaew" meaning "2 benches"), rent motorcycle, car rent, Pattaya Beach Bus or walking. For the minibus is charge a flat of Bt 10. The run to Naklua is also Bt10, and to Jomtien Beach Bt30. Drioves usually ask for Bt40 to travel up the hill to the Royal Cliff Beach Resort.
Pasttaya minibus they deserve the following roads:
- South Pattaya - Naklua Road (Naklua is the sister city extending Pattaya on the ...North)
- South Pattaya - Central Road up to Sukhumvit Road
- South Pattaya - Jomtien Beach
- 'The Dolphin Circle' from North Pattaya down to South Pattaya following Beach Road and back to North Pattaya following 2nd Road
(most of the time from North Pattaya, they extend the "dolphin circle" till Naklua)
*** If you know your destination and your destination is on one of the main roads, you don't ask anything to the driver. Just sign him down, step in the back of minibus and sitdown and enjoy the ride till you see that you have reached your destination. Then push the button (the eletric switch) on the ceiling or behide you back and the driver will breaks and stop within 2 to 5 meters. Get out, walk to the door, don't ask anything just give the driver, or his girl friend who his sitting next to him and monopolize the only good seat, 5 bt/person for short distanc or 10 Bt for long distance and 15-30 Bt for long long distance.
